Hi! this is my second tutorial, and i am making a fire text :

Let's get started! create a new 500x500 black background sheet. type your text in the middle in white. Then, use filter>blur>gaussian blur. I used the setting 2.0 or something like that. As long as it retains some shape, but is not too blur.

Now this is where the flames come in. Use liquify, on the top few panels of the filter bar. Use the smallest brush size available and the highest pressure available (irony...)

using the brush, carefully, at the tips of the text and everywhere just liquify it up. Dont make it too high, though. When you are finished, you should get something like this:

Merge down if you haven't then, use the smudge tool on the left panel to make some corrections to your pic if you want to, then Image>adjustments>Hue/saturation. Set it to a fiery orange.

Duplicate a layer and hue/saturate as above the layer, only this time, make it red. Then, set blending option to colour dodge. Merge the pic.

Now that you are almost done, you can again smudge it a little, like above to make it more fiery. Then, you have to do the last step. Click on the adjustment layer button at the bottom of the layer panel, clck on color balance, then imput these settings :
Shadow: +12 | Stay at default | Stay at default |
    MIdtones: +69 | Stay at default | -36 |
    Highlights: +7 | Stay at default | -18 |
(because the effects of this effect is not obvious, you can simply skip these step, although it does give a glow to it. You can go and see yourself

After you are done, you should have come to the final image:

Thats all! in case you are thinking that this is a rip from the other tutorials, i can only say that it is not. Most other fire text take up extensive space for their flames, but this one dosent, and it looks quite nice. Because it is not so fiery, you can also use it for a blue text :

Thanks for seeing my tutorial, hope you have fun!

I am not sure about white backgrounds. If you are doing a white background... well, most steps in this tut you cant follow, why dont you try and post it up so we can all see? sorry, ive got tonnes of homework lately so i dont have time to try... maybe next time (that should explain why i have hardly been responding and replying to the recent posts, not to say make tuts )
