Have you ever seen one of those ever so great grunge sigs?
Tired of random grunge sigs that don't help you at all?

    Look no more!

    Behold the ulitmate grunge tutorial!

    __________________________________________________ ___

Make a 350x150 transparent image with 72 res

Press D and then go to Filter -> Render -> Clouds

Press Ctrl + Shift + N then set the layer to Soft Light and then press B and open up my grunge set or what you want

Randomly dab the new layer with black grungey brushes, then press Ctrl + J then go to Edit -> Transform -> 180* you should have something like this:

    Now press Ctrl + J

SAVE YOUR WORK you will hate yourself if something happens!

Grab a cool image I am using this from GameWallpapers.com:

Crop the guy's face and resize accordingly

Add him to the image in a new layer between Layer 1 and Layer 1 Copy

Make sure Layer 2 is selected and press Ctrl + Shift + U

Set Layer 1 Copy to Lighten and the Opacity to 50% you should have something like this:

Go to Layer -> Flatten Image

    Press Ctrl + B

    Add these values:

    Shawdows:__0 | 0 | -15
    Midtones:___ 0 | 0 | 40
    Highlights:___100 | 100 | 0

Feel free to change anything but keep in mind, we want a grunge not a rainbow. I got this:

    __________________________________________________ ___

    [ Optional ]

Create a font text any size, I used Arial at size 48pt

Right click the text layer and go to Blending Options...

    Drop Shadow - Default
Inner Shadow - Size: 3, distance: 1, Default
    Bevel & Emboss - Size: 0, Soften: 0, Default
    -- Contour - Deafult
Satin - Blending Mode: Normal, Colour: White, Default
Pattern Overlay - Pattern: Clouds (bottom right), Default
Stroke - 1px, colour: black, Default

    Whew! one last stride!

Turn the text layer into a normal raster layer

Colour is what you want and you should get something like this:

You know you can try and work things out on your own?

Anyways: Nice tut , well explained in most parts

On the brushes, to open brushes, click the paintbrush. And then click the little arrow, and go --> replace brushes. And if you have downloaded any brushes, you can use them by finding them.

    Hope that helps.

Very good - I'm going to try this technique in a sig that I'm making for a member in a community I belong to.

sorry guys, this is one of my later tutorials and doesn't really give much description for first-timers. Plus the end result isn't that good, I might try a better one showing my current grunge signature.
