any tips are welcome

It's pretty good for someone new to photoshop.

First tip is fix the border Maybe try a 3 pixel black, white and black border on overlay.

try using a smaller canvase like 330x150

yes, use smaller canvas, and no offense to kite (<3) dont do the 3 pixel border thing with overlay... groooooss.
