fractal is like mathematical art. you can use programs like apophysis or chaoscope to make fractals, they are extremely hard but mostly random. go to deviantart and just go to digital art>fractal art and you can find a lot of fractals. they are usually lines and stuff. ppl make fractal brushes out of fractals. fractal brushes usually work very well on 3d renders to spice them up and 3d abstract brushes usually work very well on fractal pieces they go hand in hand.
