MIRC Question

I hear alot about how great Mirc is and what not, so I was wondering what does it take to get started in it?

Is there a way we could set up a CX room or something like that, or do you have to pay for like a server or something.

As you can tell I have no idea how to use it or what the overall set up of it is.

I was just thinking it would be cool if we could all have somewhere to go so we could exchange mooooo...er..umm...moms recipies with each other, yeah thats it our moms recipies .

Is this something that's possible or is too complicated and not worth the hassle, just wondering.

That link says that you can test it for 30 days and if you like it and want to keep using it then you have to pay. Is there something i'm missing here?
