    Thanks spluff I don't typically do sketches (though I have in the past, but I didn't import them into max). For this model I did use multiple references I found that were basically images from the movie and close ups of replicas of the movie prop you can buy. So, I do agree that there are some design impracticalities, but I was just following the references. And, at that time, nothing had to really look functional, it just had to look futuristic and complex. People just assumed it worked, so that's probably why there isn't more pistons and wires etc.

    Theres only going to be one arm And if there were going to be two, arms do tend to be symmetrical.
