I think it's originally like that, as the picture was made out of guns. (Or was it bullet casings? I don't remember.)

The render is a bad pick. Whatever you do with it, it's gonna look like you messed his face.
The BG is really busy. You should try to make it more minimal. There is a lot of effects going on but the majority are away from his head, whihc you don't want. You want the flow kind of reaching towards him.

Try a different render this one.. it just isn't meant for sigs IMO.
