Tropic Thunder Graphic

Hi all, was watching Tropic Thunder again the other day and though it would be cool just to do the effect of the credit scene when they go in on Ben stiller of any other main character in the movie credits. (when Tom Cruise starts to dance.) If someone has any idea if this could be done better in illustrater or PS could you please help. Thanks-YOUtube video posted of the credits.
