Quality Issue
Hey guys
I want to ask a question, i'm a beginner at making wallpapers.
I just have one question, how do you keep the quality of your wallpaper after saving it? I mean when i save it, and View it (Windows Picture and Fax Viewer), it looks amazing, but after i use it as a desktop background, the quality drops, the wall just ends up looking like sh*t, i've seen some good wallpapers out there, they on the other hand, don't lose the quality, no matter where/how you view them.
Maybe you could give me some advice? Maybe tell me the right settings i must use before saving it etc.
I would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance

For best results, the image should have the same dimensions as your monitor's resolution. The dimensions of that image are 1280 x 1024; if that's at all different than your monitor's resolution, then it'll look worse than the actual image.

My resolution is the same, so i guess that's not the source of my problem

Have you tried yelling at your computer screen?
Try saving as a .JPG with max quality setting(12)

I dunno then, I don't have PS anymore so I outta ideas.
I used to make my wallpapers 3-4 times my screen size then resized them before saving, dunno if that'd work. You gotta start out with them that big though, then resize to your resolution.

I found out how to fix my problem
The thing is, i used a crappy color mode
Before you save a wallpaper you must select the "sRGB IEC61966-2-1" Color Profile
I on the other hand, always used "Adobe RGB (1998)" that's why my wallpapers looked crappy :/
Thank you for your help guys
The thread can die now
