Default Running Free - Space Art

This project started out as a test, but eventually it became more than that and in my opinion turned out
quite nice. At first, I did not plan on releasing it at all.

Full description and download available at dA. The download contains more sizes of this, if anyone of
you would desire to use this as a wallpaper. For more information, visit the link below.

As written there, this piece is not perfect and it has its flaws. But it is also my first try on drawing a space
scene by hand. And wanting to start new projects, I felt I'll leave it at this.

Definitely neat looking, everything flows pretty well and I believe I might well prefer the simplicity of it over trying to spice it up. Still, you might want to fiddle around and see what it looks like if you got rid of a bit more negative space.

Thank you! Yes, the starfield requires more work, at the moment creating starfields
is as new to me as actually draw nebulas myself. But I guess I will learn sooner or later.

I'm sorry to hear that. It is a bit hard to give an image life if you don't have a plan you follow in
your head. And seeing as this was considered a first test, I never really thought of how I wanted
it until the end. I'll keep that in mind from now on though, and I've actually considered having a
story behind each piece I create - perhaps that could give the watchers some insight of the thoughts behind it.

The shape of it sort of forced me to have this amount of negative space, but I guess there are
ways around that as well. Glad you liked it!

Yes I did, all is drawn by hand, except the planets which are manipulations of satellite images
I downloaded from virtualearth.nasa.gov. Nonetheless, I'm glad you liked it.

I'm sure you have. In fact, if you read the description on deviantart you'd probably know where.

As it is written there, I followed a walkthrough that ladyrapid wrote, if you could consider that a
tutorial. It does in fact look similar to his art, but there's a reason behind that. I wanted to have
a better understanding of colors that fits well together, and trying to learn the anatomy behind art of
this kind. This was not something I created to show my skills, it was created so that I could have
better understanding of drawing it myself.

    Good job noticing though.
