I like the idea a lot. It really does sum up chaos for me but I reckon you should make the glass and the background stand out as a different things because it seems to be a blue background with a crack. I suggest something like a really slight fog near the impact zone so it stands out. I don't know if that'll work but that needs sorting out, imo because the glass, doesn't imply glass to me.

I placed a white glow in the centre of the opening and masked it off so that it stays within that area. I've just set that to Saturation to give it a more grey, light effect.
Looking at the original now, I can agree with you. I thought I had made the colours different... but when your staring at the same picture for a while, you don't realise these little things.

You will need to refresh as the file names are the swapped around a bit, but how does the Edited version look?

its good but it looks more that ice than glass which ruins its a bit, try brightening it up a little but make certain bits darker
