    Default vector of me

    Well, I think it's ok
It cost me around 3 or 4 hours and I'm quite satisfied. There are a few little mistakes but overall it looks fine.

What do you guys think? Any advice or points that could be improved?

Well it's a real vector. I used Illustrator.
You edit the original photo by using "posterize" and "threshold". These tools can help you to determine which area's should be the shadow, the midtones or the highlights. Then you use the pentool (that tool is sick, it's magical) to make the right shapes. Ét voila! you're done.

Pretty nice. I wouldn't recommend posterize or threshold too much though. Make it your own style. Posterized hair doesn't look too good. The hair could use some re-working on yours to look more like... hair :P

The tie has a nice style though. Good job there.

Not bad. I think you did a wonderful job shaping everything. the ear needs a bit of work IMO though. It seems a bit off with just that one black shape. Feels liek there should be a curvey thing on the left side of it somehow, but i didnt see the original stock so i wouldnt exactly know.

The coloring is good though i wish you gave your facea bit of color. Garuntee your not gray in real life. A nice soft skintone would have been better, and would have made the blue tie stand out a bit less.

Agreed with the man who said don't use posterized. When I do this style, I usually put a gradient map over the whole picture, put 3 colors in the Grad Map, and make it so all the sliders are touching and there's no mid-tones. Then adjust the levels for fine tuning. Your way works fine it seems, this just allows for a more personal touch.

Only negative crit I have is that the hair looks like something dragged out of a JRPG, but with vectors it's hard to do otherwise.

Oh thanks for the tips guys I can really use them.
I must admit that this is a quite simplified vector. Only 3 tones are basically used.
In my next vector I will try to add more colors and more levels of contrast/color/tones/etc. I will try to use your way of vectorring Tavro. It sounds good, but posterize/threshold is really usefull for a beginner like me. It really helped me.

Thanks for the advice and we will see what the future will bring next!

Yearh this was my thoughts i wanted to see some more details, right now the shapes are pretty nice and clean but it don't impress me so much because its so simple, i know sometimes simplicity rocks but if your not vectoring some anime figur then i personally love when more detail is putted into the vector good shapes though
