Here's my first sig, after about taking 1 year off :P

It's not bad, not bad at all.
I like the colours, but the background doesn't have to be that splattered/filled up with effects.
You could have just blurred it slightly to create a good depth background.
There needs to be a light source, right now his hair is just glowing.
There is no natural light, you need some of that.
As for the text, keep it simpler, try using only default fonts with little or no effects on the text. Stay away from the dreaded outer glow.
Pretty good for not having used PS in a year.
