    Default Spidey Civil War

Made this just earlier today, with some techniques I learned from this tutorial:
    http://www.gfxvoid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29957

Does it look any good? What could I have improved on.

imo the colors could use a little work... work on your depth a bit in the future, you seem to be lacking a bit in that in most of the sigs i see you do...

i think its a fairly good improvement from some of your past work, keep workin at it!^.^

What other ways can I work on depth besides the ol' blur/sharpening? Or is that the only way?

    Thanks

The colours do need a little bit of work, but my main worry is that there are two light sources which are conflicting. I like the text a lot though. Good colour choice and font. I think you might need to define the render a lot more too because I found it hard to figure out what it was for a while. Sort that out and you'll have a sweet sig.

    Noted!

What could I have done w/ the colors to have improved them? I see what you mean about better defining the focal, the cut was a very complex one to begin with, and using it as was probably wasn't the best idea.

    Here's the render I used:

Didn't bother cutting him out at all

well choice of the resources you use is important... often if you use a background stock (something like a room, or a park... something thats a PLACE (because images like that bear depth)) and then leave parts of it showing, it helps... and THEN blur and sharpen.

I think it's pretty good, espicially with the render you worked with as it wasn't just Spiderman. Your light source is too heavy, I would suggest moving it slightly. But yeah, it's not all that bad. The one thing that is noticeable is the card in the middle/bottom of the signature.

try using the burn and dodge brushes on the render, this along with the blur and sharpen will help your depth. areas that are dark on the render should get burn tool, light parts get the dodge, also adding in textures over the render set to color dodge, and color burn will bring closer parts out more, and make further parts look further back. light and shadows are key tho. good luck man it looks pretty good so far.
