Play That Funky Music (White Boy) is by K.C. and the Sunshine Band, if that is the correct song.

Good list, I think. The Stranglers - Golden Brown is excellent, kind of odd that we'd both be listening to it, it's not exactly popular.

lol... i have two seperate collections of 80's music. One is 5 cd's the other is 3 cd's, so i have tonnes of old stuff. Also I have a brillant cd of boogie. its two cd's with 20 songs on each and a dvd, cost 40 AUD, but well worth it.

Golden Brown came from umm... Eighties Complete - Volume 2, disk 2 of 5.

i also have a lot of random 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. If you want I'll try and post a list of all my cd's, but some of em are pretty bizzar... e.g. Surfin With the Aliens, The Police - Best Of, Barry White, etc. i have a wide and varied taste

I could list my vinyl collection but we'd need a new server for that list. I'd say the collection is somewhere between... 300-500 LP's.

I think it's funny that you called The Police a weird album, and that to most of the people here it IS a weird album. heh. I keep a pretty diverse record collection, GreenDay right next to Miles Davis, and Jay-Z sandwiched between The Misfits and Billy Joel. I love putting my iPod on shuffle and hearing Dido followed by AC/DC.

damn you have some nice stuff in there. I have most of the Pink Floyd Albums, a few of U2 and Dire Straights. almost all of Midnight Oil (which I doubt you have heard of).

Currently listening to "Counting the Beat" by "The Swingers".

I've actually heard of Midnight Oil, but couldn't name any songs. One of the guys that auditioned for my band was talking about them. I'll take a listen to them, since you mentioned them.

I too have a lot of Dire Straits and Pink Floyd, but on 12" Vinyl, not CD. My Dark Side of the Moon LP is a treasured posession, she doesn't come off the shelf very often.

If you've never heard Jeff Buckley or Tom Waits, I suggest you take a listen. I was introduced to Buckley when a friend played his version of "Hallelujah" for me. It's a pretty good song to start from I guess. He does amazing live cover songs. Tom Wait's style is totally different...from everything. But worth listening to, try "Alice" and "Reeperbahn" his CD's are usually soundtracks to broadway plays that his wife writes, so each one has a very unique sound and message.

I love talking about and listening to music, so if you have any other bands I wouldn't have heard of, fill me in please!
