Just got photoshop CS4 today... Was messing around with it all day today and came up with this:

Basically it's now reading tuts. Alot
Get some info and ways for effects out of tuts, to create your own style.
Always hold shift when you resize a stock/render, your render looks squized

It's not bad for your first. Kinda looks like you half followed my tutorial.
As flatty said, now it's just reading loads of basic tutorials. Following them will help you master that specific technique quicker.
Again, holding shift when you re-size stocks/renders is vital.
