very abstract indeed. colors are chosen well but execution could be better. more or less leaning on the monotone side. work around depth a little and provide some alternative effects to give more complexity to the tag. make us jizz ourselves =D
-
Too bad, I've got no idea on how to do it :/ Some tips would be appreciated.
-
to fix the monotoned part just apply the colors to the render instead of directly adding the color to him ya know? like instead of making him ALL that one color leave him the original color he was and add the colors u want to add and blend them with him. such as having brushes over set to some cool blending options, or shapes of that color on or near him , etc.
depth can be fixed with contrast/blurs/sharpens. u can blur the bg and sharpen the focal a tad to have a photo depth effect or, have a good light source and have everything near it bright (not too bright or that will create too much contrast) and have everything else darker etc etc lighting physics depth.
the jizz part is the oomph/wow factor of tags. make the tag an individual. make it different. make the tag looked twice upon. make it inspirational. create effects that only this tag could deserve and not be hand-me-downed to some low tier bad quality render tag.
always be original.

The problem is, the render itself is yellow, fixing that would be complicated i assume.

recolors ftw man.
its just time consumin is all but all worth it in the end :3
-
You use brushes on soft light layers for recoloring?
-
actually...i strictly use lighten/color dodge/darken/pin light. nothing else. and use polygon lasso tool, pentool for most recolorings.
-
Ugh, so complicated, makes sense why my sigs suck, I use basics

If you want to change the colors, at the beginning/midway, create a new layer and then apply image. Play around with the layer modes like soft light, color dodge, etc., and when you find one that creates a color you like leave it. Then mess with opacity, erase around areas you don't like the new color scheme, and then you'll have some diversity.
I typically start off on stock tags with an applies image -> soft light w/erasing in order to create some diversity in colors/add the early part of a light source if the stock is good enough.
