Hrm. First thing I've attempted to make in a long time. It's.. filters.. and a stock image.. not very exciting and I don't like the outcome. Maybe someone can explain WHY it sucks XD.



Also, if you say follow tutorials, please give me a good one to follow because I usually look at them and then think 'I hate what they've just made' and don't bother.

Practice makes perfect. You need to work on blending. Here is a good technique I learnt:
- Select your lasso tool and draw a 1cm away around the whole of your render/stock. (For a stock, you'll have to re-add the background in and erase the focal point where you blended as you'll lose the background in the later step).
- Right click and click "Select Inverse"
- Right click again and select "Feather" and set it at 15.
- Press delete 2 or 3 times and notice the blending.
- For a stock, as I say, duplicate it first and then erase with a soft brush around your focal point so that it stills looks the same.

You also need to throw some more colours in there. It's all quite, well...blue!
Some more effects would do it good too.
Just keep trying and don't give up!
