Opeth is really good, a more mellow metal. I heard them called "Acoustic Death Metal", I think they're icelandic... I can't get into the really hard thrash, it's too much for me. All the instruments blend into one sounds, I don't like it.

I'm glad to see you metal heads having to fight off screamo like us punk listeners had to fight off the emo wave a few years ago. People would come up to me like "hey, did you hear that new punk band? New Found Glory? They're awesome!" I wanted to strangle them with a headphone cable. If it has a piano in it, IT AINT PUNK. Now metal has the same problem...lol. enjoy fellas!

I'll paypal you a dollar if you can name 5 indie bands, and $2 if you can name 5 punk bands and 5 indie bands. NO GOOGLE! This offer stands for the first two people that respond, I'd do more but then I'd have to transfer money to my paypal account, and that takes almots a week.

off-topic...yes. but it's a real offer, so... delete if you want.

The problem with titles isn't that there are titles. It's the fact that people use them to sound cool and interesting, when in fact they are not. Blink182 for instance...is not punk. They were punk back before they were signed, back when they were with Vagrant. Now they're pop. Indie and Punk aren't just a sound, they are literally a lifestyle. If you're indie, it means you aren't signed to a major label, if you're punk...it means the same.

meh i just listen to stuff that sounds good to me. been leaning to a lot more christian bands, just cuz i can support that kind of stuff
most maintstream stuff actually sucks... but if a good punk/indie band sold out then i would probably still listen to them if they were still good
