ok, so i looked it up.. (long live wikipedia !!)
abstract = forms, lines and colors, non figurative.
half-abstract = abstract-like, but figures can be recognized.

it will be allowed since he didnt just resize the LP to make it a sig he tool the LP and did more with it as a sig like adding the text an all its been done by someone else before so it will be allowed
