It looks like on the first one you stretched the render, remember to hold shift whilst resizing it so it'll keep it's original proportions. Try to have your effect go into a certain direction so that there's a sense of flow. I suggest you read some beginner tutorials to improve your basics.

well... did u sized the render smaller? if u did always use shift while doing it and well... the bg and the c4d use arnt really blended or going witht he flow of the render... and the render looks really bad cut o.o and text needs some work too... i would recommend to use some tuts to start off and then when u understand ur own style go for ur own creations

I'd also suggest looking up some things like color theory, type theory, and composition. There's tons of tutorials all over the net. Those are a couple basic things you're gonna wanna know for sure. It's not all about knowing effects, it's knowing how to use them properly, too.

hold SHIFT when resizing... and all off these are either cluttered, are flat depth wise, have a serious color scheme mismatch issue and/or have a serious lighting issue... i recommend u focus on reading some advance tutorials dedicated on fixing some of these particular problems in future...
