[help, stuck!] Casualties

HI, A new little piece of shit ive made:
Im kinda stuck.



You can clearly see an outline around the render that needs some better smudging but lets leave that for what it is cuz i know that.

What should I improve here? I ran outta ideas/inspiration so i need your help. What to do to make this look better except smudging the render better.

Read some tutorials to get some ideas for the basics, and also read some text tutorials as well, this will help you get inspired to try different things and just generally play around in ps/gimp whatever you use..

Yes I know, thx but what to do on this sig.
Ive tried many tuts but I cant seem to make it look like my own, it always ends up as a copy of the tut :S

to make something you're own, dont just immediately go to the computer, have an idea, plan it out and then carry out that idea, rather than just opening ps and making it up as you go along...

Thats what i do....
but if your just now starting of or fairly new at Ps i would recommend what he is telling you

No offense, but I believe this sig is too far to bring it back. It's bad. The colors are far too bright. It's overblended. The background is boring and the text is horrible.

Maybe you can add some splatter brushes on soft light at the bottom of the render?
Jus't experiment, and you may want to turn the brightness/contract down a bit.

Well there are some on deviant art if you type in things like Text Tutorials or something similar.

This is a pretty good one I just found though, shows you some text then tells you how they got it.
