Orange abstract
hmm this is my first attempt ever at a abstract piece
thought i'd work with my favorite color for it
hope you enjoy
CnC welcome

You need more contrast, the whole thing feels really flat, and like not a lot is going on. Looks kind of like you've got some soft brushing in front too, that just isn't working. Whatever that fog is, needs to go to actually bring out the abstract work you did. Good sig, just needs to be brought out a bit more.
I'd also recommend, especially in an abstract piece to use more than one color, unless you actually have a reason relative to your concept to use only a single color, but even then that's generally pretty hard to pull off well.

hmmm what are you talking about when you say fog??
i'm lost there
as for color scheme
does not select and different values of a certain hue (or hues of yellow, red and orange in this case) classify as using more than one color?
I honestly appreciate your CnC, however aspects of your criticism lose me.
like saying more color when there are aspects of red, yellow, and orange.
I would ask, if you don't mind, to retype your CnC of my piece so i could understand what you mean by things a little better.
like contrast what? and to what?
if you see it as flat what can i do to give it volume?
when you say more colors do you mean more than just one genre of color? ( for example, not just orange, reds, and yellows. but also blues and greens)
Thanks
P.S.
sorry for the trouble not trying to sound defensive but rather just trying to understand so i can improve. As i mentioned this is my first attempt at an abtract/non-stock piece. So i don't exactly understand some things yet lol ^_^

None of your colors are really all that different from one another. They're all so close together in their hue/saturation/lightness values that it comes off as if they're not really all that different. It all feels very... orange.
As for contrast, that's really just referring to your colors. Don't just go to your brightness/contrast and just up your contrast, what I mean is, you need to bring out the differences in your colors.
And by fog, I mean that soft brush type thing you've got going on over top of everything. That's what is flattening the whole thing out/

ok i know what your talking about now by the "fog" lol
thats a mixture of gradients over some smudging i did earlier. guess i could go back in a brighten it up some though
and now i understand what you meant with the colors
thanks man ^_^
