Here is what you will end up with:

First, start of by creating a new platonic object ( Object->Primative->Platonic ). Under the object coniguring box, set up your setings like this (it will be on the bottom right)

now press "C" and select the polygon tool ( far left, center - looks like a blue grid with white squares outlined in red.)

right click on your object and click on "matrix extrude" ( or you can go to Structure->Matrix Extrude )

now set up your "Matrix Extrude" settings as followed:

By now, you should have an odd looking render right, well, from here, add a hyper nurb (Object->NURBS->HyperNURB)

now drag your platonic object under your hypernurb, make sure that you have the arrow pointing downwards before you drop it.

and you're done, now press render ( the blue vase at the top, or ctrl+R )

now it should look something like this:

and by adding a material, you can get something like this:

hope you enjoyed this, sorry its not very good, it is my first tut, please leave some c&c.

and if you have any question, post here or contact me anytime.

That was done with a new material, im not sure how i set it up, just find where it say "file -> new material" i think. if that doesnt work, pm me and i will show you exactly how. but once you have done that, if done right, there should be a little grey ball that is in that box now, double click it and mess around with the settings, play with the colors, refletions, things like that.

hope this helped, if not, just pm me man, NEVER be afraid to ask questions.
