    Default Pen Tool

So this is my first try to do something like excellence.

it came out crap, and i need serious help with the shading.

How are you using the pen tool?

    Photoshop or illustrator?

It looks like you've just used fill tool because the edges are really choppy.

Good job on the shading tho.

Are you using the path layers for your vectors/pen tool? You can avoid the jaggedness that way.

Use fill on the pen tool paths instead. Or if you make black outlines you can paint underneath that layer with a regular brush.

It looks good except for the choppy lines across the edges of the person.
Either use the fill of the pen tool, or use a Polygon Lasso to do it but you would have to be very precise on it.
You should put some more shading on the shirt and hand. the hair aswell should be more detailed.
You're doing a good job. KIU
