John Dillinger revisited
I was looking through threads that I had created and noticed that I posted my original Johnny Depp as John Dillinger speed painting, but not the painting in which I took my time.
A few months ago I went back and revisited my John Dillinger painting, took my time, and am more pleased with the outcome. Johnny Depp as John Dillinger from the film Public Enemies.

Hope you like it, if you've visited my dA chances are you've seen it, it's been posted there for some time just completely forgot to post the updated version here.
Original painting and thread. Sort of embarrassing but whatev.

Spent a lot of time on the face, even went in and added the eyeliner, meh that's sort of upsetting.
You're referring to the revisited painting, correct? Just wondering because the original, I agree doesn't look anything like Depp, revisit I thought did though.

I beg to differ on the face, I feelthat it looks as if it could be a movie still image. great work on this!

Lol, yeah the original was done a bit after I got my tablet so the quality wasn't great even by speed painting standards. Thank you.

How long did the revisit take you?

As I said at DA, his eyes looks creepy, kinda pasted on and his gloves and gun looks plastic. Other than that top quality as always.

Few days with breaks, finished surprisingly quick by my standards.
I'll post a little step by step later today in here. I have earlier in the process where the colors are just layed down and before the details are added, I am missing the lines although in a few steps you can still see them. It won't be great because when I was first starting out I wasn't thinking that it could be a good idea, but you can see the progression in detail, mostly the face in each image.

Really good, looks like him a lot.
The eyes look a bit squinted though, thats probs what makes him look less like the real thing. Otherwise, looks really realistic.
