I like the background effects. They are pretty awesome.
His head seems kind of choppy on the left of the sig. Maybe try some smudging on screen with a small sized brush. The blur tool may even be able to take care of it.
Otherwise the depth and lighting seem lacking. It looks like your source is top-right. I would recommend the dodge tool on that side and the burn tool on the other to create more flow. In addition I would blur the background a little more and sharpen the focal.
Stock seems really low quality to me. Need to choose carefully and if it looks a bit dodgy either try nd fix it or just ditch it entirely.
Colours are really contrasted and don't really fit.
You like I have seem to have an issue with foreground effects, if I find a fix i'll let you know
Just need to keep working at it dude and you'll get better with time. If you don't see an improvement stop for a while and come back to it see if anything has changed. I notice tht when I stop doing sigs nd come back to it a week or 2 later I'll be better creatively than before. Think i've been doing sigs now for about 2 - 3 years and I still pail in comparision to some of the people on here. Just need to do loads and loads of Tuts even if you don't like the tut outcome just to pick up some stuff from the tut. Then when u come to make another new one of your own incorporate some stuff u've learned and you'll soon find ur own style of doing stuff.
