you dont wanna smudge like that man, the essential key to smudge is patience.
Let me give you a quick comparison too smudge, smuding's like doing a vexel/vector
it takes a lot of patience though you know how its done(get it? xD). Now about the tag's faults,
On spidy you dont wanna smudge his entire body if you wanna mash him in the bg,
what you wanna do is smudge a small ratio of him too make him blend in the bg well and next
you wanna do small strokes on them smudge as well(yes i doo keep on repeating my self).

I like it, it's pretty fancy.

Maybe do some smudging on that whole side of him so it looks like he's getting kind of pulled apart? I dunno, it's good though, I really like your lighting on this one. Just a simple and nice sig.

I think it's the kind of design that looks better without text.
