This is my first try at both a tech image and DragonsRage's coloring tutorial. What do you all think? I personally think the borders don't look very great but I don't know what to do in order to make them look better.

Make the border like a gray and choose luminosity as the layer thing. Maybe stroke it. Thats what i do.

I do not think you did it right....... because your surposed to do the whole tech border and it endes up haveing like so of the same colors in the BG. It's just gray.

when its set to soft light isnt the borders suppose to blend with the bg or did you use some blending options with stroke and color?

Yeah, play around with the borders layer by double clicking it in the 'Layers' Palette/Menu that should already be in the south eastern corner if you didn't mess with the settings.

Now play around with the blend mode and see which one you think looks kikass, and then put a 1px border around the sig.

Ya I was thinking about playing around with the opacity, but I'd have to merge the background layers togather first because right now they overlap eachother a lot. I'll try it sometime later today when I have more time on my hands.

I think the soft light thing didn't work because of other blending options with the couple of layers that make up the background. When I have more time I'll just merge them all and check how it looks...

Sorry for bumping an old topic... but I merged all the border layers and set it for hard light. I've set it as my current because I didn't really like my old one. How is it now?

Also, what suggestions do you have for the text? Because I don't like the font but it's the best I could come up with.

Oh, and I made a quick avatar to go with it.
