oh thats terrible i think we should be happy that we dont live in India...

i think this is big problem that religions and things in which those people in some countrys of asia and africa believe are blocking that country to grow up and get more modern and civilisated ( sry about my bad english)

yeah its sad, but unfortunatly a place like india cannot afford the social wealfare programs that us who live in western societies are used to.

In all honesty in Australia we're getting to the point that we will not be able to afford the pension system. Our system is a lot different to the american system, where it doesn't matter who you are or what you circumstances, you can get either unemployment benifits or some other pension, that is almost aty the same level of minimum award rates. Current min award rates is about 480 a week AUD.

On top of this, when on the pension you get discounts on a lot of bills, get free public transport (or reduced) etc.

Problem is our work force is almost down to 1/4 of the actual population, the other 3/4's obtaining some form of pension or welfare payments.

If this continues, as we increase our aging population, Australia may have to revert to places like india where children are encouraged to work to help support families. Though in australia the problem isn't the level of unemployable or unemployed (currently running around 5%) its the level of the aging population.

How could they send a five year old to be a police officer a 5 year old couldn't pull up enough guts to hold a gun (well maybe hold it) but never could he shoot someone.

This is pathetic... not on moral grounds, but the fact that their police force is so underresourced that they have a 5 year old working for them.
