Isnt there a command to find the computer specs, like everything? My dad got this new laptop from work and hes not sure how old/powerful it is.

    Thanks in advance.

well.... depends whats running on it. what version of windows is it and is ms office installed? if ms office is installed then you can open up ms word choose the help menu, choose about, and in the about dialog there is a System Info button. click that and it will tell you a lot.

Otherwise you can go to the control panel, choose system. it will give you some basics like memory and cpu.

otherwise i thikn you need to download stuff.

goto "run" & type in "dxdiag" That'll bring up the direct x diagnostic tool which has most of your system specs inlcuding sound, video, ram, processor

ahh but if its an old system, it may not have direct x, specialy the older ones which were aimed more at business computing.
