    Default Denkoura

Entry for a creature in a contest

Legend has it that the lightning from the skies came from creatures known as Denkouras. Denkouras are bug-like creatures made of panel like scales coiled around lightning. Though Denkouras don't have eyes they fare well in knowing their surroundings; lightning finds its way out through holes located throughout its body, Denkouras are able to analyze air currents by the movements of the lightning bolts. The lightning from these species is said to have enough energy to power cities for centuries, however this myth has yet to be proven because no one has captured a Denkoura in order to harness the energy. Many have came close however state that the Denkouras appear to seperate into bits of dust releasing the lightning stored up and disappearing in the skies.

What are the green squares coming off the back? Is it shedding scales?

Cnc: if there's no explanation for it, then it seems out of place in the image/part of the creature. The tail is less detailed than the rest of the body. And the right wing (top wing on the image) has had less work done on it than the left wing (also looks less bright).

I REALLY like the creativity and thought that went into it and the sharp style.
    Does it have hind legs?

I like it, sweet artwork and it definately represents the creature described in the text.

    His right leg seems unfinished?

A general tip would be to use more interesting poses instead of a side-view. (Unless this was the point of the contest)

I like the touch-ups and the added blue and red colours - it fits well.
