Thursday at one of the many festivals in Belgium the weather conditions took a turn for the worst.
Burning sun one minute, deadly storm the next. It only took 10 minutes for a storm to completely destroy everything in it's path. Unfortunately along with the extreme destruction over 75 people got injured from which 5 have lost their lives and 3 are still in critical condition. This weather conditions are extremely rare here and unfortunately they happened at the wrong time, in the wrong place. Despite the the gravity of the situation it could have been much worse as there were around 60.000 people present at the time of the storm and it's a miracle only this few got injured.
I wanted to get the word out to people who didn't know already. I normally go to this festival every year and this is the first year I'm not there. I was pissed when I heard I couldn't go this year, but as it turns out I was quite lucky.
For those who want here are 2 links to a Belgian newspaper site where they've collected a few amateur youtube movies of the storm.
