lol the earthquake was light in NY. All it did was shake me awake and made me grumpy. The hurricane, well I can swim if anything and I heard of evacuations in certain parts of the city.

I made this post somewhere else, it's a C/P.
Since this whole hurricane Irene thing happened, the news have only been covering Carolina which is the hurricanes entering region and "New York". Now I get that New York will be affected but the way the media sucks New Yorks cock is seriously f****g pissing me off to the point were I literally feel like writing a letter to a news station and for those of you who know me, you know I don't flip s**t for no reason.
I have been searching for news on the 7 states that will be affected and by how much they will be affected by and I can only get news coverage for Carolina and New York, like seriously, the East Coast isn't made out of just New York and Carolina, I am pretty sure that there are another 7+ states there. All they talk about is how New York this, Chris Cristie (New Jersey's major) said that and how the President has declared Carolina a state of emergency. Now some sites do mention the names of the states that will be affected, but they don't mention by how much (wind speed, money estimated, water level, people who will need to be evacuation etc) it will be affected by. The media then turns around and blatantly insults the public for their ignorance in the exact same f*****g paragraph that they completely ignored the other 5 states that Irene will be hitting.
Now we are fortunate enough to have the internet and those who know how to use it are well informed but what about those people who watch the news and yet they only get minor 2-3 minute reports on something that is very well classified catastrophic? Even my 4 local news channels ONLY speak about New York and Carolina and I am so not bullshitting about this, there are a few of you here who live in Philadelphia too, I invite you guys to turn the news on and look at what I am talking about. People here in Pennsylvania, Virginia and the other states don't want to have to learn just how bad the Hurricane is once it is actually here and they give beach side reports of it they want to know before hand to be prepared and evacuate.
The media completely ignores the "not so mainstream" states simply because they are not elegant and it doesn't bring views in, however, big movie cities like New York get complete coverage even though they are currently dry and we are f*****g SOAKED. I seriously blame simple minded folks for paying too much attention to mainstream TV and only caring what happens to "famous" people, cities, parties, shows etc.
So we know that there is a hurricane coming, we know it will rain a lot, strong winds, some people along the shore will be evacuated, there will be floods but I could have guessed that myself. Who exactly will be affected? Which buildings are in the most danger? Will the homeless be taken cared for? Will we take a hit in city wide budgets? Which businesses will be closed? Will Hospitals have enough room to take care of the ill or every area or will we need to go to specific areas? In case Irene decides to pop some viagras and completely change into a high category hurricane, what should we all do?
I'm pretty sure the folks underneath New York would like some answers too.
and this is by FAR the best coverage there is for us http://www.nbcphilad.../128332303.html not saying much, I know, even though we are highlighted as f**k, we don't really get much coverage.
