Bg is kinda noobish. Render dosent really match the bg. Text is hard to read on the ICK. Blending isnt all that great.

Agreed, get some brushes from DeviantArt (.com).

Lower the opacity of the beam, looks kinda sci-fi as of now.

I agree. Brushes from DA will greatly improve that.
