For starter, I like the simple concept. I can see the idea you're trying to form.
I suggest that you should learn about the "Rule of Thirds" (You can google that for me.)

I google'd the Rule of Thirds and I see what you mean.

Its quite a unique concept youve got there, for considering yourself a 'noob' your not exactly the worst out there, you have understanding of colour schemes and various effects. As said above the hand as a background is a great idea but doesn't really work much for this, its turned pixelated which never really looks good on anything.
Try to develop your depth a little more, work both behind and in front of the render, leave things like colour editing til' last and finally, as always, drop the border and text, unless you can do text absolutely perfectly it never really works out (and 1px black borders don't look that great).

if you smudge the BG I think you'll got some flow there and it's kinda obvious that you erased some parts of the fractal or bubble c4d on the focal for you to got some depth there. try to use blur and sharpen tool mate (:
