Signatures & Tags Katy Perry Tag ~

Possibly the most complicated tag I've produced this year tbh =/ It doesn't really look like it, but this little bitch cost me 38+ layers, and it still doesn't feel right.

Anyway my eyes are officially fucked so I probably wont be editing this one for a while.

I think the biggest thing I am seeing with your work is repetition. They are all the same style and have very little going on. Sure it looks good but what are you actually gaining out of doing the same style every time? I say switch it up and start applying time to the background. Make a story out of it, create an enviroment from your imagination, create a light source and manipulate your images to show this. I would actually suggest working on a much larger canvas and basically creating a large piece and then scaling down/cropping into a signature. Signatures are a great place to start getting into photoshop and at some point you should start pushing your boundaries, exploring new techniques, playing with larger pieces and overall creating a much more well rounded piece of art. Although signatures are small and often basic I still like to put alot of time and effort into them to show what I can do as an artist. Heck after all a signature on a forum is bound to be viewed by more people than any of your other work so why not have it represent your best work.

    Just my thoughts.

EDIT: Just saw you have made a larger piece but it still looked to be going in the same direction.

    I agree with hagen.
    It looks grainy and dull.
You need to work on lightning and depth. And although there is a "direction" going on in this tag, there is no "flow"
Also the tag is way to "full"; to "messy"... try doing less! Make some space!!

Alright alright, so I gave it another shot.

And that's all I'm doing with it, genuinely can't get past the terribleness of the render. With this I had to basically paste the render again after every other layer just to get it to look partially-ok.

On the plus side though, it looks fooking bad-ass when inverted.
