ok..I have a 96' Dell with a Pentuim 2 prosscessor and running Photoshop 7 & Imageready on it.

Also have a 1.96 GB hardrive.

    This is what happen:

I was on photoshop and my brush wouldn't show up, just the crosshairs.
So i got mad and closed photoshop then opened it back up again.
The samething happen, so I just decided to restart the computer.
At the time I had about 500 mega-bytes of free hard drive space in the memory
Then I restarted the computer, opened up photoshop again.
I get a message saying "Scratch memory is full, can not open this program".
Well I close photoshop and see that I now have 89 mega-bytes of free harddrive memory space.

So what can I do to fix this comp without buying a new one(Can't afford more then 300 bucks).

buying a new 80gig hard drive wouldnt cost you more than 100-150bucks

but a good 10gig would prolly be like $40 bucks.

    www.newegg.com
    www.pricewatch.com

both good places to find some cheap PC hardware.

    Just buy a new computer...

And just to let you know...all you needed to do was press the caps lock key to switch between showing your brush and the crosshair.

Well, you have two options that you can do. I'm not quite sure if there is actually another way in which you can free the memory, but to my knowledge here is what I think you can do.

    1. Completely remove Photoshop from your computer, and just reinstall it again.
    2. Just reformat your computer, and start up from new again.

You might be able to get a whole new box for $300, if not brand new, atleast a first gen P4. Check you're local paper, I see comps better than yours going for 250 in my paper weekly. Even some as cheap as $100 (Pity I was broke when I saw the Mac G4 IMac for $100 a month or so ago).
