Smile How to make a Trippy Animation...

Hi guys... this is my first tutorial... ever...

before i start off i want to make it clear that I DID NOT COME UP WITH THIS IDEA!!! nop... i didnt... I'm not rippin it off from any other tutorial... cuz I searched a lot for this tutorial... and didnt find it...

and that search brought me to this website... and since i figured how to do this now... i thot i'll write a tut on it...

I saw 2 animations like this on forums and stuff... this is my favrt... the other one was an 100x100 avatar...

so if u like it and want to kno how its done... read on...

    /start tutorial....

This is the pic I'm gonna use...

we are gonna start by double clicking the Background layer in layers panel.. and thus unlockin it...

    yup.. thats Abe alright...

First i'm gonna put it in a square... (so that I can later resize it to make it an Avatar) But do not crop... jus change the Canvas size.. in my pic i changed it to 325x325...

    now Duplicate the layer...

then tilt it a bit... like this...

(yes its tilted.. jus a bit though...)

This step is optional... but u can giv it a minor twirl...
    Filters>Effects>Twirl

    i gave a value of -10

    Now Duplicate the tilted layer...

Then give it a Radical Blur with the settings shown below...

Now take a soft brush for the erasor... Put the opacity to 50%... then erase some bits off.. like the face... so that the face from the non-blurred layer below wud be visible...

    then u can merge down...

so now we have 2 pics...

    1-this one with no effects...

2-and this one which is tilted (maybe twirled) and blurred...

now... duplicate each later... and invert these duplicated layers... Ctrl+I (I for invert)

now Ctrl+Shift+M to edit it in Imageready....
(I jus did this.. and an error comes... Plz convert the picture into 8bit RGB... so go to Image>Mode and convert... jus select Don't Merge wen the question pops)

yes almost done... now jus for the animation bit...

Now thr r 2 ways to arrange the frames...
Forward and backward... I chose Backward...

    Here's my end result...

errr... didn't turn out so gud... It all depends on the pic u use too...

like the pic I showed as an example... now thats some gud stuff...

    thnk u all...

only real difference I see is that his zooms more while yours just slants the image...and that his is a negative while you inverted yours. Nice tut btw and cool result

the only difference is the first one scales, which creates the impression of a zoom, you can easily add that in the tut. Good job dissecting
