Some simple portraiture from today
nothing too serious or ground-breaking in this thread. a couple cropping issues i wish i'd thought about when taking the shots. a few other minor gripes, but overall i think it went nice.

and just a fun shot:

all comments appreciated!

These look like pictures you take for high school seniors. Are these for a graduation or something?
I really like the photos overall. The blurred background really brings out the focal nicely. Some parts of the girl seem blurred too though. Like her arm in the first one looks blurred (or maybe it's just really close). Kind of throws it off a little.
Also, it might just be me, but her face looks different in the second photo than the other ones.

Instead of trying to fake a narrow depth of field in Photoshop post-shot (it doesn't work, cameras don't make blur like that), use a lower aperture and higher shutter speed when taking the picture.
I like the last one with the girl on the plinth, it looks cool.

I agree. I'm not that good of a photographer but I think it is well done.
It can pass as either a casual or semi-formal photo to me.

not bad necro i liek the shots. I do have a couple of crits though.
1: Good posing on this shot. I liek ti however i can see where you blurred it distinctly and also i think you may have liquified it to right above her stomach or torso, which is fine it looks like a good job, but remove the streaky lines cause they are a dead giveaway. (it may not be liquify either, may just be a lens dirt or something, please corretc me if i'm wrong).
2. Not a bad shot, posing is cool, but i really dislike cropping off the shirt. her face does look different did you make her skin smoother in the other two and not in this one?
3rd: By far your best good pose, good lighting, realistic smile. this is a nice shot and could definetly passs as a senior portrait.
4th. last shot is cool and its fun but i dont see it being a real senior shot. More of just a fun one that makes her look like a super hero haha.
Overal not bad, but i would tone down the BG blur, and watch your liquify. Great looking poses and smiles, she looks liek you had a good time and really connected with her.

As said above the fake blur made in photoshop is a bit overdone, try getting as much DOF out of your camera as possible real depth always look better than the one photoshop can create I like the last one best
