I like the fact that you've removed the splatter in V2..
that looks much better.
But I think your V2 is oversharpend a bit. I liked the soft feeling in V1 more.
And I also don't like the fact that the lightning is stronger in V2.

So the only change I would make at V1 is removing the splatter.
But that's just me
