Guys it's his first with out a tut T.T
Not his first haha. So yeah bit less amazing now that we know that
Anyway v1 is better imo.
The light source is bleh :l
Don't use a white soft brush for your lighting! It is very unnatural and doesn't look very good.
Effects are pretty good but that smudge just to the left of the render is not needed and throws the mood off.
Also pretty empty so that can be worked on with future signatures. Don't think you can do much with this signature to fill it up
Also @ Fork
that complaint each other? Don't you mean complement?

I'm not sure who NomNom is, but thank you nonetheless. And thank you sirenzo, I hope get better constantly with the help from the amazing artists on this website.
I didn't notice your post earlier josh, sorry about that. If I shouldn't use a soft brush for lighting, what should I be using? I honestly have no idea what to do to make a light source otherwise. And is there any particular reason you prefer V1 aside from my poor light source?

Oh, well I guess that means I have some small, tiny bit of potential.

haha man well to create good lighting is with the lighting effects filter.
Go filters > render > lighting effects. Select spotlight and then try to angle it in a way so that it isn't too strong but still shows a nice definition of lighting. What I'd do it angle it with the lighting come from the top left corner and angling down to be darker towards the right.
If you need help I can show steps in this.
Also another way that is very effective is your dodge/burn tools.
The dodge tool makes things brighter so you can use that to define your light source and the burn tool makes things darker.
Also as I said I prefer v1 because of the colours. That blue is a nice calming blue and just looks better imo

I only have Filter > Render > Lens Flare. I'm assume this isn't the same thing, and I'm unable to find any Lighting Effects. I also just made this one using only dodge and burn tools for the lighting. I'd like CnC on this one too, but my main concern is the lighting right now.

What do you think?

The lighting is much better, tone down the dodge on the face a bit and add more effects on the left side. You need to work a bit more on your blending. Try using some gradient maps and color filters.
@Josh
It was just a simple spelling error but the message I was trying to make still made sense.
@Edwin
Why would you find it relevant to bad mouth someone to make someone else feel better? People come here to learn just because you can do a decent job in photoshop doesn't mean you're superior to everyone else, please stop bad mouthing people.
