    he's pretty much saying to make the shading with pentool. like this see how i recreated the shadows on my can. (btw your's is way better, this was made last year when i was learning pentooling)

    Ohhhhhhh I gotcha now. The pic is a great example, I'm more of a visual kinda learner! haha but thank you very much!!

    Looks like a great first vector mate, I'd love to see it with some vector shading like others mentioned.

    If your going to start vectoring, Get Illustrator.

    This is good for a first though, add shading like said above.

    Thanks for all the feedback and tips guys, appreciate it a ton!! Gotta get the wisdom teeth yanked out tomorrow morning but when I get outta that daze I'll work on the shading and see what ya guys think.

    It's a good first attempt, and I am not going to disappoint anyone, expecting me to say a certain thing. Once you use a brush, like your splatter brush, it is no longer a vector, unless you drew it out yourself.

    There are a few ways you can make it look 3D. One is the step shading, as shown above. The other is through gradients, which can be done for vectors. The red part is a simple rectangle, so the centre is the bright red, and edges are darker, and you will want to have the slider between centre and edge not at 50% for mixing. You want it to start mixing closer to the edges or the centre won't look as good, or bright. For the metal rim and base, you can use gradient mesh, or blend, or go simple gradient if you don't mind if it isn't perfect.
