Default It's been a long time. How have you been?

Putting aside the GLaDOS quote... I've been pretty busy lately and I've been getting back into an old hobby of mine, that is remote control car racing. It's something that I did years ago and left it because of work commitments. One part of the hobby involves painting the body of your car, which can be quite a task sometimes.

The Silvia body. It's a green called Lime Ice backed with Inca Gold to give it a gold look under certain light.

Eventually I'll have a few other bodies to show off as I'm planning on buying a spray gun to do detailed designs. The hard part is painting in reverse, meaning that you have to do all your detail first and back it with the solid colour since you actually paint on the inside of the shell. Imagine painting on a sheet of glass.

I've got some chrome and gold wheels that I need tyres for, but I'm waiting for the rubber to come in from Japan. Those are racing rims that I have on at the moment. Both aerodynamic and have a less of a chance of breaking if I roll the car. On some of my previously cars I've shattered rims, steering arms, and even the carbon fibre body.

Also blending with spray cans is pretty hard to do when you're painting inside the shell. It's nothing like graphic arts when you can create a gradient and if you don't mask/paint the area properly, you can end up with residue on various parts of the body. That's why I wanna get an Air gun cause it's more of a focused form of painting.

Green is an awesome colour. It's somewhat fruity and tasty.
