Hey GFX! Anyone care to help?

New here looking forward to being a long turn member, but first its best you all know I'm sooper noobie in graphics and know most ppl here probably use photoshop, i use gimp btw!.

anyways i wondering if anyone can help me edit a custom sig/pic/coa like this or lead me to a tutorial that covers how to make something like this, i would just like to start a convo about this picture and whoever made it, how hard is it to make and how they made it would be awsome!

too dark and too monotone and more colour lighten it p and lose the stupid pattern and text, could be worked on and maybe change the size to default

I think the pattern gives it some depth imo, but can anyone tell me how do the stuff in that pic? or lead me to a tutorial?

lightning render
probably gradient map over everything but the lightning to make it all blue
text with layerstyles

It's possible but I'm not sure why you'd try, that tag is pretty poo on the grand scale of things.

actually i just want to learn how to do the lightning now lol you guys opened my eyes lol.....do you guys have any links to good gimp tutorials even though i would assume gimp is pretty irrelevant here seeing all the beautiful photoshop sigs already, you guys have talent

(download a photoshop trial and put the crack in the photoshop folder so u get free photoshop)
