American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief

Victims of Hurricane Katrina are attempting to recover from the massive storm. American Red Cross volunteers have been deployed to the hardest hit areas of Katrina’s destruction, supplying hundreds of thousands of victims left homeless with critical necessities. By making a financial donation to support hurricane relief efforts, the Red Cross can provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Privacy Notice: If your donation is $250 or more, Amazon.com will provide your name, credit card billing address, and donation amount to the American Red Cross, and the American Red Cross will provide you with a receipt for your donation. Other than this, Amazon.com will not share information about you with the American Red Cross. Amazon.com has waived all customary Honor System fees associated with your contributions to the Red Cross. Thanks in advance for your participation during this critical time.

Wow ryan, that's awfully nice of you. I guess you're changing your ways, feels good to help out doesn't it? lol.

I'm actually signing up for Americorp. They'll probably be sending me down to rebuild if I get accepted. So, you may not be seeing much of me in a few months (if I do, in fact, get in).

You act like I don't care. I do donate part of my income to selected charities every month (or causes, for that mannie).

I can't remember where it was, but there was a topic where you talked out pretty adimently against charity. At least I thought there was, maybe I'm mistaken and it was someone else. If I am, I apologize.

Nice. I have been debating about whether to donate, I in fact have $100 set apart in "tithe", basically a ten percent i take off whenever i get income, which I later use for charities and stuff. I don't know if I will send it to the hurricane however, I know a charity right here in Orange County that my friend runs in fact, and they get money, then get food, clothes, and blankets for poor or homeless people that need help. I know that it is a good charity because I have gone with them to deliver the stuff. I will probably donate mostly to that, because that is closer to my heart and I have seen friends go into bankruptcy and stuff and need help, but I am probably going to still give money to the hurricane efforts. Not alot, but maybe around like $60 or something.

our school is collecting $ for the relief, and my dad and i together donated $100

(we both gave $50, but the check is written by him)

if you think that is not a lot of money, consider that i am in 6th grade, and that it was about one fourth of the $ the school got that day
