rectangular marquee acting weird

Whenever i try to use the rectangluar marquee tool it insists on making it a perfect square, with rounded edges, and feathered about 10 pixels. This has been hapening for awhile now, and it makes it kinda hard to do a lot of stuff. So does anyone know what might be wrong? Thanks

Are you sure your using the marque tool, and not the rectangle tool?

Do you have the style set at normal and feather to 0px?
