Hard Drive Problem

Well i got a virus that has effectively deleted all my System 32 files, so my pc is useless, wont even load up.

So i am wondering is there anyway to fix it and/or anyway to get some programs etc. off that hard drive onto this one?

If it's a legal copy of windows XP, putting in your install CD and booting the system up should allow you to enter Recovery mode. And that should take care of it. If not, then just switch the jumper on the hard drive from MA to SL and you can use it as a secondary hard drive.

And 43 steals the spotlight again. Did you make sure to make up Back Up discs for XP when you installed it?

just wondering... lets say if i had this problem... i have a hp pvilion a650y, it lets me fully recover my computer. it stores all the data that nbeeds to be recovered on 7 different disks. if my computer gets pwned by virus such as the one that infected BlackOut, will it recover if i put in my recovery disks in? i donno if anyone has a hp but if u do and u know plz tell me thnx .

I dont think the windows was legit, it was my bro's old pc and everything was cracked.

Any legit copy of windows will work, I don&#39;t believe it has to be the same serial.
