Please keep in mind that i only really started using Photoshop 1 or 2 weeks ago and I have yet to learn everything.

First Open a new image and paint the bg black

Get the gradient tool and select the diamond gradient

Randomly draw some lines on the page. Heres what I ended up with:

Then use the Reflected gradient and draw a diagonal line across the whole of the page. Heres what I came up with:

Now duplicate layer (ctrl + J)

Go to Filter>Distort>Twirl and set the angle to 300. Heres what it should look like:

Set the blending mode of this layer to Lighten and Duplicate Layer (ctrl+J).

Flip the new layer vertically: Edit>Transform>Flip Vertically.

Now just change the Hue/Saturation for each of the layers by pressing ctrl+U. Make sure you check "colorize". Once you are satisfied with the image and colours go to Layers>Flatten Image. This is what i came up with, you can experiment with it more tto make it look better.

Hope you like it, feedback welcome

I really like the effect. I think that this could be used to form brushes and other things.
