Sorry, I could have elaborated, I did this using the burnishing technique, by which darker layers of color are applied, then lighter colors are smeared into the darker ones. It involves layer upon layer and the friction actually melts the colors into one another. That's why it's called BURNishing. I go through alot of Prismas this way! Burnished drawings are usually referred to as "paintings" just because the finished product more often resembles a true painting rather than a colored pencil drawing. Anyway, I hope that explains some. Also, this was drawn on cold pressed cresent board. It took about a week off and on.
